The objective of this scheme is to improve health among students through doing thorough medical Examinations at the beginning of every term.

Laboratory Services

Good health for a student is a pre-requisite for optimal academic and extra curricular performance. Children and youths that begin each day as healthy individuals can learn more effectively, and are more likely to complete their formal Education (Newsletter - Health Schools of New Mexico- September 1998).

Student burden of ill health affects their physical growth, their attendance at school and their ability to learn (Andrew hall; School health programs, Africa Health, September 1996).

A school is a closed community made up of members from different social backgrounds that are made to live together with close interaction. The level of interaction among students favors easy disease communication if any has a contagious disease. This can easily lead to an outbreak.

Benefits of the Student Medical Examination Scheme:
  • We will provide the school with emergency rescue service 24 hours a day through our Ambulance system.
  • Students’ health records will be well managed and a final report will be written by Crane Health Services and given to the school. These can be used for advocacy, planning and influencing School health policy.
  • This arrangement will offer the greatest convenience to the parents.
  • By this arrangement it is easy to get every student examined there by making the exercise more meaningful and efficient.
  • The data that will be got from the exercise will be more representative and can accurately be used for planning, advocacy and other intervention initiatives.
  • The health burden of the school will greatly reduce since the sick will be diagnosed and treated.
  • The cost of doing the examination is highly subsidized moreover at the highest convenience.

    All the above services cost a parent only 10,000/= for the medical examination per term and no extra fee will be charged for follow up services either on the parent or school.
